Evaluation services are provided by the University of Southern Mississippi. These efforts are directed by Drs. Carver and Reinert, two researchers with substantial experience in tobacco control programs and evaluation in Mississippi, and numerous other states. Dr. Carver has worked in the tobacco prevention field for 15 years and was instrumental in developing The Partnership for Healthy Mississippi program. In addition, she has consulted for numerous states’ tobacco control programs . Dr. Reinert has been evaluating tobacco programs for 9 years., and frequently serves as an invited speaker for CDC in the tobacco evaluation meetings. Both researchers have published over 20 articles in tobacco control.

Finally, our capacity to provide surveillance and evaluation services is enhanced by our relationship with three statewide coalitions; the American Lung Association Asthma Coalition, the Mississippi Tobacco Control Network, and the Mississippi Tobacco Disparities Workgroup.
